Welcome to the Oxford University Fencing Club website!

President's Welcome

Founded in 1891, Oxford University Fencing Club is one of Britain's oldest and most successful fencing clubs. The club caters for all levels, from beginners to international.

Foil, epee and sabre training are all on offer at the club. Advanced and intermediate fencers receive expert tuition from our club coach, Tomek Walicki, who leads a weekly training session and offers individual lessons throughout the week. In addition there are two club nights every week with free fencing. The quality of fencing is high across all three weapons and many members represent their country internationally.

Written by OUFC Webmaster. Posted in News

OUFC are proud to announce that we have had a highly successful season – fencing earned the most BUCS points of any Oxford sport! A short summary of how our teams performed:

Men’s Blues finished 2nd in the Premier South league, and won Varsity for the first time in four years.
Women’s Blues won the Premier South league for the 3rd year in a row, qualified for the BUCS Championship final (the only Oxford team to do so), and maintained their winning streak at Varsity.
Men’s Seconds finished 5th in a tough Midlands 1A league and were unlucky to lose Varsity by just 6 points.
Women’s Seconds finished 4th in the Midlands 1A, and won Varsity by a huge 64 points.

Additionally, huge congratulations go to our Novice Varsity team, who beat their Cambridge counterparts last weekend.
