Welcome to the Oxford University Fencing Club website!

President's Welcome

Founded in 1891, Oxford University Fencing Club is one of Britain's oldest and most successful fencing clubs. The club caters for all levels, from beginners to international.

Foil, epee and sabre training are all on offer at the club. Advanced and intermediate fencers receive expert tuition from our club coach, Tomek Walicki, who leads a weekly training session and offers individual lessons throughout the week. In addition there are two club nights every week with free fencing. The quality of fencing is high across all three weapons and many members represent their country internationally.

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to Oxford, everyone! I hope you’ve all had wonderful and relaxing summers!

Just a few things to say at the start of year- there are a few exciting Fresher’s events coming up in the next couple of week to take note of and some fantastic results from recent Opens.

Training Times

Attached is the leaflet given out at Fresher’s fair for 2014/15- please note the training times for the coming year.

All non- coached sessions begin this week but coached sessions begin in 1st week (the week starting Monday 13th October).

With the beginning of the new academic year, all members are required to renew their club membership.  Please print off the attached leaflet which contains the membership form, fill it out and return it with payment to the Treasurer, Grace Segall.  The deadline for membership renewals is Saturday of 3rd Week.  Membership is not complete unless you submit both the form and payment, which can be done by cash, cheque or bank-transfer.

Taster Session- Sunday 12th October 3.30pm

Next Sunday, there will be a taster session which everyone can attend. If you haven’t fenced before but would like to learn then come down to Cricket Schools at Iffley to see what it’s all about. If you’re an experienced fencer, then come to the taster to explain why it’s such a great sport!
