Welcome to the Oxford University Fencing Club website!

President's Welcome

Founded in 1891, Oxford University Fencing Club is one of Britain's oldest and most successful fencing clubs. The club caters for all levels, from beginners to international.

Foil, epee and sabre training are all on offer at the club. Advanced and intermediate fencers receive expert tuition from our club coach, Tomek Walicki, who leads a weekly training session and offers individual lessons throughout the week. In addition there are two club nights every week with free fencing. The quality of fencing is high across all three weapons and many members represent their country internationally.

Beginners’ Training Sessions

Written by OUFC Webmaster. Posted in News

Sorry for the late notice but things got a little bit hectic after varsity.

This is just to let you all know that the last two scheduled training sessions of term will be running as usual Friday 4.00 – 5.30 and Sunday 1.30 – 3.00, would be good to see a nice large group of you there for these two.

Further emails will go out in due course to let you know about any holiday training (for those of you remaining in Oxford) and to update you on training in Trinity term.

Many Thanks

Hi Everyone,

Hope you’ve all had an enjoyable first few weeks of term!

I’ve got a few results to make everyone aware for the past couple of weeks and the details of some matches coming up.

** Match Results **

Men’s Blues vs Imperial. Victory 129-114
Women’s Blues vs Cambridge. Loss 123-129

Women’s Blues vs Surrey. Victory 123-120

Men’s Assassin’s vs Loughborough. Victory 129-86. Another 4 man wonder performance…

Men’s Blues vs Bath. Victory 135-85
Women’s Blues vs UCL. UCL No-show.

** Upcoming Fixtures **

07/02/15 – 08/02/15

Quintes for both Blues teams at Imperial College London.

Women’s Assassin’s Matches vs Nottingham and Warwick.

The first starts at 9.30am and the second at 12pm at Cricket Schools so come down to support! Unfortunately, this means that the Saturday Intermediates session is cancelled this week.

Friday Night Epee 5.30pm to 8pm

Just a reminder that Friday evening epee sessions are open to epeeists of all abilities and are an excellent opportunity to practice when cricket schools is not so packed.

Epeeists should make the most of this session as it’s an extra chance to fence each week. The pentathletes would also greatly appreciate the possibility of sparring with the fencing club.

Have a great week,
